Classic is the original click: a 90 ms square-wave tone at 1100/1660 Hz, a
sustained, pitched note sitting in the piano's own top octaves, which is exactly why it hides among
high notes. It is the default again, and the reference to A/B everything else against.
The other five each break that problem a different way: inharmonic partials, noise, or a decay fast
enough that the ear files it as a hit rather than a pitch — reach for those (Rimshot
first) when the beat gets lost under a busy right hand.
Play them against the piano (the checkbox in the bar), and that's the only
test that matters. Tick marks are still yours to keep.

How to use
▶ loop plays that click at the set tempo; only one loops at a time so you always compare against silence,
not against another click. ♪ once fires a single accented + plain pair. Leave
play piano over it ticked: a click that sounds great alone can still vanish under a busy right hand.
The waveform under each name is that click's actual accented hit, drawn from a real offline render
(~120 ms window), so you can see how short the transient is.
Whatever you pick here, set it for real in Settings → Sound → Metronome sound.
