You and your opponent play the very same match, from one seed. A live challenge is played together; the rest wait for whenever each of you has a minute.
You both play it from the top, on the metronome clock, at the same speed, with no assists. The higher score takes it.
How do you want to play? Switch any time. The rest of the setup lives in Settings โ Setup.

Both roads end at the saloon. Only the first ten minutes differ.
Squad up: shared goals, everyone's progress in one place, and you all get better together.
Pick a rival and stake your coins. Win the match and the stake comes back with the rival's multiplier as profit. Lose (or quit) and it's gone. Each rival takes 3 duels a day, and every piece pays out only up to its own lifetime limit, so bring new repertoire to keep earning.

A MIDI keyboard makes this a real piano lesson. Acoustic piano with no MIDI? Use the microphone instead. No piano handy? You can explore with the on-screen keys and set this up later. This guide is always in Settings โ Connection guide.
Several MIDI connections found. Press a key on your piano and the connection it's on lights up. Tap one to use only that connection:
Each piece comes in three speeds: Slow 70%, Average 85% and Fast 100%. Same notes, more tempo.
The game as it is running right now. Anything with a number beside it is waiting on you. The numbers themselves live on ๐ Analytics.
Drag a piece variant onto a board to assign it, or onto another chip to
take that chip's spot on the path. Level 1 (the starter zone) is five separate tutorial boards, so drag
between subzones to move a piece around the meadows.
Each chip's dropdown picks the rival who guards that space. auto keeps the old positional rule
(spaces 1-2 = first minion, 3-4 = second, last space = the boss); choosing a name pins that rival to the
piece instead, so one rival can guard several spaces and the boss need not be last. Moving a piece to
another board resets it to auto, since each board has its own rivals.
Tempo % is that variant's adjustment on its zone board; the song's master
base tempo lives in the ๐ข Tempo tab and multiplies every mode.
The Unassigned bench on the right holds every variant that is not on a map โ
the whole corpus, three variants a piece โ so it is filtered and paged: type
a title, composer or slug to narrow it, and use โน โบ to walk the pages.

Free-form mode follows your playing, but it lost you there. Find your place and the song will wait at the next note and pick you back up.
The team reads every one. If they agree, the label changes for everyone and you hear back in your messages.

Expert Mode judges dynamics. Every falling note shows the loudness the score asks for โ its color and its width; the rim still says which hand (cyan right, orange left) โ and a right note at the wrong loudness is marked down: one grade off for a neighbouring dynamic, two for the far end (a p passage hammered at f turns a Perfect into a Good) โ dynamics never break the combo, only timing does. Long notes must be held for half their length. It is meant to be punishing, so Expert runs rank on their own high-score board.
Addons โ each one judges one more thing the score writes. They only bite on pieces whose score carries the marks (most classical pieces do; simple tunes have none), and the marks are drawn on the notes only while the addon is on.
12-key mode: the tune, one note at a time, on twelve lettered keys from A to Gโฏ. Whichever hand carries the melody, its top note is yours and the game plays the rest. A note is judged by its letter, so an octave leap lands on the same key.
Mic mode listens for your acoustic piano. Single notes work anywhere in the app, and full chords are recognized during a song. Guide notes are muted so the mic doesn't hear the app itself; headphones help if you keep the metronome on. Go easy on the sustain pedal: a wash of ringing notes is harder to hear apart, so detection is most accurate with little or no pedal.
Play the game from the piano. Press Set on a control and then press the key you want it on: one key, a chord struck together, or a pedal. While a piece is being judged none of this is live: there, every key belongs to the music.
Choose a performance piece and listen to it.
Played in full, at tempo. Just sit back and enjoy.
The Conservatory's practice rooms for two: open one on a piece and another player takes the other seat from this list. Both faces and voices, one score and one set of falling keys in front of both, the host's marks saved as a study version for the guest.
